FERNS, FROST, FRIENDS, + FALLS.

Yesterday, while brunching at the home of some lovely friends of ours,
we decided we'd meet today for a little double-family hike somewhere in the Columbia Gorge.
We drove east outside of Portland along the Columbia River to a trailhead just past Multnomah Falls.

The trailhead we chose had a couple of waterfalls you could veer off to,
and we chose to go the Triple Falls route which ended up being about 4-miles round trip.
The hike wasn't too crazy or steep, but Ramona definitely had to be in the backpack the entire time.
I didn't see a single child out there, and let me tell you, hand warmers saved us from a major Ramona June meltdown.
We talked about rock/land formations, ferns, and labor (girl-talk).
The air was crisp, the views were incredible, and everything was green as far as the eye could see.

It was the most perfect, soul-warming kind of morning;
out in the forest, in good company, breathing in a beautiful winter day.
