Yesterday, while brunching at the home of some lovely friends of ours,
we decided we'd meet today for a little double-family hike somewhere in the Columbia Gorge.
We drove east outside of Portland along the Columbia River to a trailhead just past Multnomah Falls.

The trailhead we chose had a couple of waterfalls you could veer off to,
and we chose to go the Triple Falls route which ended up being about 4-miles round trip.
The hike wasn't too crazy or steep, but Ramona definitely had to be in the backpack the entire time.
I didn't see a single child out there, and let me tell you, hand warmers saved us from a major Ramona June meltdown.
We talked about rock/land formations, ferns, and labor (girl-talk).
The air was crisp, the views were incredible, and everything was green as far as the eye could see.

It was the most perfect, soul-warming kind of morning;
out in the forest, in good company, breathing in a beautiful winter day.

  1. So beautiful. I need a good hike, and maybe this will be it! I didn't know you were here in the area. We live in Camas. xx

    1. It was really gorgeous. And so GREEN! There are so many different trailheads in the Gorge near Multnomah Falls that I still want to try! A friend of mine from school lives in Camas... not too far at all ;)

  2. Such fun photographs! I love hiking pictures! You live in such a beautiful area :)
